The Law Easy is a free educational website about Indian law. Please read this disclaimer before relying on anything you find here.
Not legal advice
Everything on this website, including notes, articles, case explanations, videos, practice questions and mock tests, is for general education and examination preparation only. It is not legal advice and does not create a lawyer–client relationship. For advice on a particular situation, consult a qualified advocate.
Accuracy and currency
We try to keep the material accurate and current, but we make no guarantee that it is complete, correct or up to date. Laws are amended, new judgments change how provisions are read, and our explanations simplify the law for learning. In particular, the B.N.S., B.N.S.S. and B.S.A. replaced the IPC, CrPC and Indian Evidence Act from 1 July 2024, so older material that refers to the earlier codes should be read with that in mind.
Check the official sources
Before relying on a provision, check its current official text on India Code, the official online repository of Indian legislation, and read the relevant judgments in full.
Use of AI tools
AI tools help us edit and organise material and draft practice questions. Their output goes through checks before it is published, and legal points that cannot be confirmed are flagged for review rather than guessed. Errors can still occur; if you find one, please tell us.
Case law and citations
Case explanations summarise judgments for study and are not a substitute for the full judgment. In the “Case at a glance” panel we show a law-report citation only after it has been checked; citations inside older notes are being re-checked.
Third-party content and links
Links to other websites, including YouTube and official government sources, are provided for convenience. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content.
Limitation of liability
