From the video description

The Electricity Act divides regulatory powers between CERC under Section 79 for inter-state matters and SERCs under Section 86 for state-level affairs. Statutory appeals against commission orders lie to the Appellate Tribunal for Electricity (APTEL) under Section 111. However, as clarified in the PTC India case, challenging the validity of a regulation itself requires judicial review rather than an APTEL appeal. In this video you will learn: • Jurisdiction of CERC under Section 79 and SERCs under Section 86 of the Electricity Act. • Appellate jurisdiction of APTEL under Section 111 against commission orders. • Difference between appealing an order and challenging the validity of a regulation. Important case laws: • PTC India Limited v Central Electricity Regulatory Commission Statutory provisions discussed: • Section 79, Electricity Act • Section 86, Electricity Act • Section 111, Electricity Act Useful for: LL.B. (3-year and 5-year integrated), UGC NET Law and CLAT PG. Free notes, quizzes & more: https://www.thelaweasy.com #Shorts #EnergyLaw #ElectricityAct #LawEasy
